Such a great little device
It shipped fairly fast, was well protected, and arrived only two days later. I was already a Boox user (I’ve had a Note Air 2 and a Boox Tab X) for quite some time, and I treated myself to what I considered a whim — but it’s been two days and I’ve already logged 8h48 of reading on it (I’m an academic).
The device is sleek and powerful; I love the firmware, the infinite notes, and the OCR/reflow function, which is absolutely amazing. I had a lot of hesitation about Kaleido 3, but it’s a nice addition, and when reading, the resolution and the screen are excellent. When I had a question, I used the device’s user feedback tool and they answered me right away. I’ve also had an excellent experience with my other devices being updated regularly since I bought them (it’s been quite some time, and they still are). It’s a lovable little machine. Annotating in color with the stylus is very comfortable; the screen size is nicely compensated by Neo Reader’s excellent options to reflow, crop, etc. PDFs, and it absolutely shines with EPUBs. The note-taking experience is much more comfortable than I expected. It integrates with Zotero, WebDAV, Google Drive — you name it — and while the learning curve is a little steep, there is virtually nothing out of reach for a workflow (it even runs Android 15). What’s not to love? When the Note/Boox Max is updated to 4.1, I’ll gladly order from this shop again. It’s been perfect — and they had stock when Boox EU didn’t (and Amazon doesn’t offer the stylus/case bundle… what a bummer). |
