Information on the Disposal of Electrical Appliances and Batteries

As a retailer of high-quality Onyx BOOX E-Ink tablets, environmental protection is important to us. Please observe the following legal instructions regarding disposal.

1. Disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin means that this device must not be disposed of in the normal household waste at the end of its service life. Owners of old appliances are required to dispose of them separately from unsorted municipal waste.

• Legal Obligation: You are legally required to ensure professional disposal of old electronic devices.
• Return Options: You can return old appliances free of charge to local municipal collection points (e.g., recycling centers). Additionally, we offer to take back old devices of the types we carry in our assortment free of charge if sent back to our warehouse.
• Data Protection: Please ensure that you delete all personal data (e.g., e-books, cloud logins, private notes) from the device before disposal. A factory reset is required for this purpose.

2. Battery Disposal Instructions (BattG)

Onyx BOOX devices contain permanently installed lithium-ion batteries. Since these batteries cannot be non-destructively removed by the user, the entire device must be submitted for specialized battery disposal.

• Free Returns: Spent batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. You can return them free of charge to public collection points or anywhere batteries are sold.
• Lithium Battery Safety: Damaged or swollen devices must not be sent by mail due to fire hazards. Please hand them over directly to a local hazardous waste collection point.
